Just two ingredients for versatility or you can add spices to add specific flavors (savory or sweet) Shared by: Aline Machado Deerfield, of the McDougall Starch Solution Facebook group. Thank you, Aline a million times, and then repeat! Shortened Instructions: • First, rinse 1 cup of lentils (any color) under cold water, and then combine with 2 cups of water in a bowl. Cover lightly (I used a paper plate over the bowl). Let soak on counter 6 to 12 hours. (Or, up to 48 hours in the fridge.) • Blend smooth. • I added Braggs Salt Free Seasoning (great herb with Rosemary flavor). Add ANY seasoning(s) of choice. • Grill on dry, nonstick pan until done enough to lift and flip. • As Aline promised, they were crunchy on outside, but ohhhhh so chewy on the inside! • BETTER than flour OR corn tortillas!!! The first time I made these I served them with organic Spit Pea Soup I cooked all day on low in the Crock Pot. I didn't want to make a separate salad AND I wanted to be sure my hubby ate a big salad with all the starch I was serving up for dinner; soooooo I took two full organic salad bags (one Kale and Spinach, the other Cabbage & Carrot) blended them smoothie smooth with a cup of water and stirred an entire pitcher full of greens into the pea soup (making the soup about 50/50). Using the submersion blender, I creamed everything together for a thick, smooth, tasty, pea soup! 50% Starch. 50% Veggies For Maximum Health & Weight Loss Yum! Yum!

In crockpot, I placed a washed Butternut squash, and pablano pepper. Cook on low for 8 hours, or high for 4 hours. Removed hard root top and placed ENTIRE squash in blender with the pablano pepper and basil from the garden. Added 2 cups of alkaline water. Blended on high until smooth. Made two batches blended with 3 pre-cooked potatoes, each. Stirred in 2 tsp of smoked paprika and Wah LAHHH! Oh my tasty WORD! Enjoy! Call me lazy, but rather than dirty three pots to make rice, squash, AND four potatoes I found in the pantry, I threw it all in together! In the short amount of time it took to make the rice, it cooked the potatoes and garden squash PERFECTLY! Now I just need to put the potatoes in the fridge overnight to make them a resistant starch (no sugar spikes) and have them for later this week when I need them. (Great to carry potatoes in my purse for a snack on the go. Even though I'm on a rice mini right now, the potatoes won't go to 'waist' LOL. Soooo easy! YUM! Oh my tasty WORD! My pumpkin seed milk that I made for years has 78% plant fat. Too much for losing weight on the Starch Solution. But rice milk would not. I started with 16 oz alkaline water to get smooth before diluting to taste. 1 tsp vanilla 1 tbsp cinnamon 1 tbsp maple syrup 2 cups cooked, brown rice (film shows 1, but I added another for basically one cup of cooked rice per quart) Blend until smooth. Chill. Serve as a beverage or over a breakfast or dessert grain. Leave out the cinnamon and maple if wanting it savory. Enjoy!

You'll want to try this burger recipe for SURE! • 10 oz. bag of frozen cubed sweet potatoes (about 1 1/3 cups mashed) • ¾ cups dry rice cooked (about 2 cups after cooked, I used basmati rice) • 2/3 cup chopped and squeezed pineapple • ¼ of a small purple onion chopped tiny • 2 tsp chili powder • Pinch of black pepper • FLAX egg optional (1 tbsp flax seeds ground up which will make 1½ tbsp plus 3 TBSP water) Cook in grill until golden. Soooooooo, until today, my only experiment with Jackfruit was a disaster! I bought the giant, bumpy, yellow fruit at the store. Starred at it for a week or so, then finally opened it. What was inside, you ask? The absolute stickiest, nasty, goo (latex) you've ever seen. I ruined towels, utensils, and we won't even discuss my hands. The entire mess ended up in the trash; towels and all (sorry for wasting). I vowed then to leave jackfruit to the experts and buy it in the can if I ever decided to try again. I found an organic brand MONTHS ago and bought two small cans. Yesterday during our weekly Zoom Meet & Eat Luncheon, Samantha mentioned she had tried it with her husband and older daughter and they ate it! That's like the Mikey commercial from back in the day! If Mikey ate it, it had to be good, because Mikey hated everything! So, today I decided to use one of the cans here on YouTube, just for you.

CREAMY and delicious! Slice pre-cooked potatoes 1/4 inch Cut Chives 1/4 inch Cheese-like Sauce: 3 small heads organic cauliflower 2 Tbsp garlic powder 2 Tbsp onion powder 1/2 cup Nutritional Yeast (Nooch) 1 Tbsp dried mustard 1.5 cups tapioca starch 1 jar Roasted Red Bell Peppers with the juice Blend sauce ingredients together to smooth. Heat on stove until thicker and slightly stretchy. Assemble: Layer cheese-like sauce Layer diced cooked potatoes Repeat until pan is full Top with Chives and GF Breadcrumbs Bake 400 degrees for 20-30 minutes to heat throughout. It's been over a year since I posted my first lentil tortilla video. I wanted to do it today, live, in case anyone had questions I might not have thought of before about the process. https://youtu.be/7IY3P034hXs Lentil Tortillas: (Soak overnight the following): 1 cup lentils (any color) 2 cups water 1 tsp onion powder* 1 tsp garlic powder* 1 tsp basil* 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (my latest flavor obsession)* (*Use ANY seasonings you like, savory, or sweet, or none at all.) You can soak and blend them the next day, or up to 4 days later if they are kept covered in the fridge. Waiting the extra three days also adds the benefit of the lentils "sprouting" little fresh shoots, making them a fully vibrant, living food! (my preference) When I'm ready I pre-heat my electric Cuisinart griddle (two-sided panini maker) on high while I get the batter ready. (The quick way to tell if a skillet or griddle is ready to use, toss a few drops of water on it to see if it sizzles. If not, wait a bit longer). If using a stove, do the same. Next, dump all of the soaked lentils (remaining water and all) into a blender. The batter does not need to be smooth, so a fancy blender is not needed. I'm currently using a Vitamixer which is pretty strong (Blendtec also), but this recipe will work in any brand. Blend it on medium to high speed until the consistency of thick batter. (see video) Ladle about 1/2 cup batter onto the hot pre-heated griddle and spread around with a spoon to the desired thickness and size. I can fit four, 4 inch tortillas on my foldable griddle. Close the griddle and set a timer for 10 minutes. They will be slightly crisp on the outside and delightfully soft and chewy on the inside. These are a GREAT source of fiber. Extremely filling. I used them today to make a veggie sandwich, but I've also used them for a dessert when topped with chocolate flavored hummus (tastes like nutella), mashed fruit, etc. Serve hot immediately, or let cool down and store in an airtight baggie. Enjoy! ***** CAKE ANYONE??? It's our youngest son's 24th birthday today. A birthday just isn't a birthday without a CAKE!!! (Reminds me of one of our daughters who was mad on her 3rd or 4th birthday every time we said "happy birthday" despite the house being fully decorated with streamers and balloons. She finally shouted out, "It's not my birthday. There's NO CAKE!" Evidently, cake makes a birthday official! I agree. Sooooo... how do you make a compliant cake eating WFPB? Preheat Oven to 350 degrees: 1 DRY cake or brownie mix 3-4 small, pre-cooked sweet potatoes Peel the skin off the pre-cooked sweet potatoes (I air-fried them for later; as shown below) Mash the peeled sweet potatoes. These will serve as your egg and oil substitutes; binding the mixture together beautifully. Add the package of DRY cake or browning mix to the mashed sweet potatoes. Gently stir (so as not to create a cake powder cloud in your kitchen) the sweet potatoes into the dry cake mix until smooth and creamy. Pour into 8x8 silicone baking pan, and bake according to directions. My package called for 350 degrees for 35 minutes. I put it back in for 10 more minutes; making that 45 minutes total. When finished, let rest for 5 minutes, then dump cake out of pan onto a cooling rack. After fully cooled, "frost" with chocolate flavored hummus!!! Yes, you heard me right. I promise it tastes as good, if not better, than it looks in the video. Enjoy! ***** Chia "Egg" Substitute: Also in this video I show how to make a "chia egg" to subsitute chicken eggs in recipes. I later made it into pudding by adding cinnamon. 1/2 tsp water 2 Tbsp Chia Seeds For pudding: I like to add cinnamon or fruit. Keeps in fridge for about a week. You can use seed milk in place of the water if a creamier flavor is desired. Enjoy! ***** Sweet Potato "Chips" We used cooked sweet potatoes for our cake recipe, but I just love the cooked skins from the crockpot. I tossed the peeled skins left from the above recipe into the air fryer for 10 minutes. They came out PERFECT! Enjoy!

You asked for simple recipes, and today we made two! #1 Frozen Green Beans + Fire Roasted Tomatoes simmered to perfection! Use them on potatoes, rice, pasta; the possibilities are endless. #2 Frittata (Whole Food Plant Based - WFPB). What's a Frittata you ask? It's basically like an open-faced omelet, or crustless quiche. The only difference is the traditional Frittata (just like omelets or quiche) are made with meat, eggs, and dairy cheese. Since we know, to be healthy, we need to avoid meat, eggs, and dairy, you'll LOVE this plant-based version. I used: 1 can chickpeas, including the faba juice in the can (mine was organic) Now add ANY leftover veggies in your fridge. In my fridge, I found: leftover zucchini leftover yellow squash onion colored bell peppers 1 Tsp Baking Powder Optional (recommended) 1-2 Cups Oats, or oat flour to make texture a bit fluffier and add a healthy starch Toss everything into a blender and pulse or run on low just long enough to break up and blend, but not pulverize. You'll see in the video there are still nice bits in the end mixture. Now, pour the glob of goo onto a non-stick baking sheet or use parchment paper. Spread about 1/4 to 1/2 inches thick. Bake 350 for 45-60 minutes. You can cut into squares to use like bread, or eat with a fork. Great take n go! Enjoy!!!

The absolutely BEST Melted Mozzarella Cheese Sauce EVER! 1 Head Cauliflower (steamed) 1 Tbsp Onion Powder 1 Tbsp Garlic Powder 1 Tsp Colorful Salt (never white) 1 Tsp Lemon Juice or Zest 1 Cup Tapioca Starch (aka Tapioca Flour -- however, do NOT try any other type flour. It won't work.) Blend all together until smooth. Place in pot over medium to low heat. Stir constantly as mixture thickens. Cannot substitute tapioca starch for anything else. It won't work. The absolutely BEST Melted Mozzarella Cheese Sauce EVER! 1 Head Cauliflower (steamed) 1 Tbsp Onion Powder 1 Tbsp Garlic Powder 1 Tsp Colorful Salt (never white) 1 Tsp Lemon Juice or Zest 1 Cup Tapioca Starch (aka Tapioca Flour -- however, do NOT try any other type flour. It won't work.) Blend all together until smooth. Place in pot over medium to low heat. Stir constantly as mixture thickens. Cannot substitute tapioca starch for anything else. It won't work. Skip the old habits and zero in on the side veggies to build your own meal. Hubby Pants wanted to go out for a fancy dinner before I start Dr. McDougall's 12 Day Program (at home) tomorrow. I could have taken a night off. I could have eaten off plan for one last binge, but I had ZERO desire to do that. When you feel this good you don't want to go back. There's no challenge in going backwards. Success, on the other hand, now THAT'S truly sweet! Hubby Pants hit 14 days being good. He starts over again tomorrow at breakfast. One and done. Drum Roll..... YES! IT TASTES AND SPREADS LIKE BUTTER! This was NOT my original idea, but I've tweaked it to make it my own. I'm also messaging the two YouTubers below who inspired me, to share my tweak with them. I'm pretty sure they'll love it also. Their recipe turned out a bit thinner than I could sneak past my BUTTER ON EVERYTHING eating Hubby Pants. My added tweaks: Cornstarch for added thickness; and, I substituted plant milk for blended artichoke hearts. What these tweaks mean for us WFPB eaters, is more non-starchy veggies added to our favorite whole food plant-based starch of choice. PLUS, likely you'll have MORE non-starchy veggies on the other side of your plate; pushing your 50/50 to a wonderful 25/75 -- depending on how much you love the taste and texture of butter on your food?!?! 1/2 cup plant milk* 1 cup cauliflower 1/8 tsp Tumeric (for color) 1 tsp pink salt (or leave out) 1 tsp Psyllium Husk *OR, substitute with my preferences: 1 jar Blended Water-packed ARTICHOKE HEARTS instead of plant milk PLUS, 1 Tbsp Corn Starch Stirred into cold, blended, Artichoke Hearts (for an even more butter like texture that holds up and spreads) Oh My Tasty WORD! Eating out on vacation can break the bank or detour some people from getting away at all. The grocery haul in this video was LESS than what we spent this week eating out TWICE for two people! The Roasted Veggies alone will provide meals, and meal enhancements all week: Meal #1 50% Roasted Starch Veggies 50% Roasted Non Veggies Served with Organic Ketchup, and Spicey Horseradish Mustard Meal #2 Cold or Warmed Roasted Veggies tossed on plate of salad greens Meal #3 Roasted Veggies added to leftover Veggie Broth for a soul warming hearty soup Meal #4 Roasted Veggies tossed with my "Go To" Artichoke Heart Sauce (see recent video) with added lime juice and a smidge of basil for a curry-like topping over Heart of Palm Angel Hair Noodles Meal #5 More like a finger snack, Roasted Veggies nibbled on whenever Repeat all of above until gone. ******* Oil-Free Hummus (Snack, Starch Side, or Dressing) Blend drained can of Chickpeas until smooth with 2-3 cloves of garlic (save the aqua faba liquid for next two dessert recipes). Place in storage bowl and scoop blended basil in center. Enjoy with sliced cucumber 🥒 instead of chips. ******* Gingerbread Pumpkin Spice (Dessert) 1 Large Can (29 oz) Raw Pumpkin 6 packets Natural Leaf Stevia 1 Tbsp Gingerbread Spice 1 Cup Whipped Aqua Faba folded in gently. Delicious, creamy dessert or snack. ******* Nice Cream (Dessert) 2 cups Frozen Berries of Choice 1 cup Frozen Aqua Faba already whipped Sweeten with Maple Syrup, or flavored Stevia. (I'll likely use some of the Gingerbread Spice) Blend together for a creamy low sugar, fruit dessert, using the Aqua Faba as the Starch. *******

It's that time of year! Wait! What am I talking about?!? It's ALWAYS that time of year! Nothing like an inviting, warm, bowl of soup to snuggle up to at the end of the day. I started my Butternut Squash at noon yesterday in my WARM crockpot. It was fork tender on the warm setting at the 18 hour mark. (I anticipated 24 hrs but with my clinic work schedule today, I didn't get to actually make it until the 30 hour mark). Delightful! Plant-Based foods cooked at heats higher than 115 lose a great deal of their nutrient value. Slow and steady using the crockpot warm setting for the win!!! (Note: Do NOT use the warm setting for cooking anything that contains animal products. Not even broth! Or, you could get very sick.) #livingfoodnotwarmbulk Blend: 1/2 of a WARM cooked Butternut Squash 2 sliced Leeks 2-3 shredded Carrots 🥕 1 medium chopped cucumber 🥒 1 knob of raw Ginger 1 tbsp minced Garlic 1 tsp ground Rosemary 1 cup raw "sour cream" (made from hemp seeds) OR substitute veggie broth 1 cup alkaline antioxidant water (MyWaterPeople.com) 1 tsp pink salt (optional, omit for SOS) I used the "soup setting" on my Blendtec for the programed 90 seconds and it was PERFECT! Hemp Seed Sour Cream by Amber Montgomery (my niece) 1 cup hemp seeds 2 or 3 TBS Lime Juice 1 or 2 TBS Apple Cider Vinegar 1 tsp salt (the good kinds haha) 1/2 cup water Put all into blender. I would start with the lower amounts of lime and apple cider vinegar first and taste. I'm kinda immune to lime/ sour tasting so I don't want to tell you to put too much in. It will be a little runny but will firm over the days in fridge. If you are using it right away do only 1/3 cup water. Ohhhhhhh my tasty WORD!

Anyone live in Misawa, Japan, when I did (1991, 1992, 1993)??? Japan (Nippon) was the absolute most beautiful countryside I've ever seen in my life. Two colors found in Japan's nature, I've never seen a crayon box! Breathtaking! Something else I've never seen beyond Japan is: a population of a more healthier people -- living on white rice and mostly veggies. I never met any obese or sickly Japanese (Nihongan) neighbors living in the village. Just honorable, hardworking, healthy people (young to very old). I lost over 100 lbs living in Japan. I didn't understand then what I know now: Whole Food Plant-Based Starches give you sustainable energy and allow you to obtain and maintain a healthy body weight! 1) Fill half your plate with whole food plant-based starches, and half your plate (or more, with veggies). 2) Eat until your full. 3) If you're hungry... REPEAT.
